Research Interests

My research interests include the search for Dark Matter using novel, low-background detectors in combination with X-Ray optics. Currently my work focuses on the application of advanced multilayer techniques in astrophysics. The recent progresses in this field led to the development of hard X-Ray optics for astrophysics, which will allow the study of still unexplored areas of astronomy. These focusing mirrors will for example provide insight into such important astrophysical processes as nucleosynthesis and the formation of black holes.
