  • Synchrotron radiation techniques for materials characterization: NEXAFS spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultra-small angle x-ray scattering, and synchrotron-based x-ray microtomography.
  • Structural, orientational, & electronic properties of self-assembled monolayers.
  • Evolution of electronic structure in semiconductor and diamond nanomaterials.
  • The micro- meso- and nanoscale structure of engineered nanoporous materials; e.g. aerogels, metallic foams, and insensitive high explosives.
