Formulation and processing of polymeric and energetic materials; High explosives, polymer and colloid rheology; Characterization of polymers and explosives by optical, thermal and mechanical methods; Gels and thixotropic solutions; Decontamination of chemical and biological warfare agents, segmented polyurethanes; Dynamic mechanical properties of polymers and explosives, Polymer characterization including optical, thermal and mechanical properties; Polymer degradation and stabilization.


Honors

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Director's Performance Award July 28, 1997 for development of the explosive for the Silver Bullet effort. Environmental Protection Division Award for contributions to the Lake Davis Project, Nov. 5, 2001; Defense & Nuclear Technology Directorate Award for development of DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive) April 2004. Global Security Directorate Award 2010 for the SEARCHER Phase 1 project. Physics and Life Sciences Directorate Award 2010 for LLM-105 insensitive booster development.
