Research Interests

I am a part of the nuclear diagnostics group within the National Ignition Facility, NIF. I have worked on detector hardware as well as Monte Carlo simulations of neutron and photon fluxes and activation in the NIF facility, structures, and diagnostics. I am currently working on simulations for the radiochemistry diagnostic.

My other interests are in the application of radiation physics to medicine, national security, and radiation detection. As the former chair of the American Nuclear Society, Northern California Section, I am also very interested in nuclear policy and the promotion of the safe use of nuclear energy.
