Research Interests

My research focuses on paleoenvironmental and paleoclimate reconstructions through a multiproxy approach (pollen, non-pollen palynomorphs, and diatoms). In particular, I am interested in the dynamics and the responses of the vegetation to natural and human-induced change through time. I am currently working on pollen radiocarbon dating in order to develop high-resolution age models that will help to reconstruct the climate history in California, with a special attention to the past droughts, with the aim of understanding and constraining future risks.
