MaCI offers a unique summer internship experience for undergraduate and graduate students. For 10–12 weeks, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities like the Nanoscale Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory, the Jupiter Laser Facility, the Energetic Materials Center, the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory, and the National Ignition Facility. During the summer, interns:
- Work with mentors on real projects that directly impact LLNL’s national security mission.
- Gain hands-on experience in materials synthesis, materials characterization, materials processing, analytical chemistry, actinide materials science, optical materials science, electrochemistry, materials engineering, materials chemistry, and physics.
- Attend valuable seminars and connect with other students across LLNL.
- Present findings at the Student Poster Symposium.
The internship program will provide you with real-world, applied experience solving important problems within our stimulating work environment. Through the program, you become part of the LLNL family. At LLNL, you’ll be working in one of the world’s major hubs for innovation—the Silicon Valley—and be exposed to all that the Bay Area has to offer.
