What do you like about your job and/or about working at the Lab?

I love working with such brilliant minds at the Lab as well as having the opportunity to contribute to their groundbreaking work. It's incredibly fulfilling to be a part of an organization that's making a real difference in the world. Additionally, the Lab's commitment to a healthy work-life balance is refreshing and demonstrates genuine care for employee well-being.

What do your day-to-day work activities include?

In my day-to-day work activities, I serve as the Physics Division LTRAIN coordinator, ensuring division employees are in training compliance. I provide support to both the division leader and deputy division leader, assisting with administrative tasks and project management. Overall, I oversee the daily activities within the division, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

What is one project you’re really proud to have worked on?

I am particularly proud of the summer scholar request tool I developed, which efficiently collects student requests and automatically populates a student tracking database with all the necessary information to facilitate a smooth onboarding process. This tool enables mentors to monitor the status of their requests in real time, enhancing communication and overall workflow.

What is your educational/career background?

I have dedicated the past 15+ years to a career in office administration.

What inspired you to go into science/your field of work?

I've always enjoyed finding a way to make things more efficient, and I love helping people. Office administration lets me do both.

What advice would you give to a new employee at the Lab?

I highly recommend getting to know your administrative team. They're a wealth of knowledge about the Lab and it's processes. They are always happy to help as you settle in. Don't forget to make time for Lab events. They are a lot of fun and a good opportunity to network!
