What do you like about working at the Lab?
I love that I’m able to assist a variety of different people! I get to interact with many different scientists, chemists, and physicists who are all doing amazing things for our country and our world. We also have an amazing administrative team that is very supportive, friendly, and hardworking. It’s refreshing to know that even on the administrative side of the house, we are still contributing to a much bigger picture.
What is your educational or career background?
I received my associate degree in liberal arts from Los Medanos Community College and my bachelor’s degree in communication from Saint Mary’s College of California. I have been at the Lab for the last 6 years.
What advice would you give to a new employee at the Lab?
Get out, meet new people, and explore the Lab! There are many networking groups, employee resources and activities, and training/career growth opportunities that are available for everyone.
What inspired you to go into your field of work?
I always wanted to help people but wasn't sure how or where. After graduating college, I wanted to utilize my education and my skills and dove right into administration. I’m so glad I did because I really feel like I’m able to use my previous experiences while also challenging myself in new ways.
What are your hobbies/what do you do in your free time?
When I’m not working, I love being with my two boys. They are at the age where they are learning so much and it’s really exciting to watch them soak in new experiences. I also like exploring new local wineries!
