What do you like about working at the Lab?
The Lab is unique, and I like seeing my team members, having conversations, and learning what my team is currently working on. I also enjoy seeing their labs and how excited they are when they explain what they do. I have always liked working with people and assisting where I can.
What do your day-to-day work activities include?
I support my team with any request brought my way, including setting up meetings, ordering supplies or gadgets, making travel preparations, doing expense reports, assisting with floor planning, onboarding students and employees, and backing up other assistants within our division. If there’s anything related to making our team’s job easier, I am there.
What is one project you’re really proud to have worked on?
Currently, I am proud of the Get to Know Your Colleagues weekly newsletter. I like that it’s simple and the Condensed Matter Section teaches colleagues unique things about their peers.
What is your educational or career background?
After earning a BS in business administration, I went on to work in administrative support, administrative sales support, and customer service.
What inspired you to go into your field of work?
I have always liked the challenge and working with people.
What advice would you give to a new employee at the Lab?
Ask for help if needed.
What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy bowling, watching my boys play baseball, and of course puzzles. I am also a member of the African American Body of Laboratory Employees and the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory Women’s Association.
