What do you like about your job and/or about working at the Lab?
What I love most about my job is my incredible team and the groups I support. They've made me feel truly welcome and appreciated, creating a positive and collaborative environment that makes my work even more rewarding. What I love about working at the Lab is being a part of a mission-driven environment where innovative research meets real world impact.
What do your day-to-day work activities include?
My day-to-day activities include providing comprehensive support to both the Atmospheric Science Research and Applications group and the Porous Media group. My role includes managing daily operations, such as coordinating schedules and calendars, editing and organizing documents, and maintaining efficient filing systems. I handle communication by directing phone calls and emails, and I ensure smooth coordination of meetings and travel arrangements. Additionally, I manage office supply orders and track inventory to keep the office running efficiently.
What is your educational/career background?
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory marked the beginning of my professional career after earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University Monterey Bay.
What inspired you to go into science/your field of work?
My inspiration to pursue a career at the Lab began when I was a little girl, visiting the Discovery Center on a field trip. Even though my career isn't in science, I always thought the Lab would be a fascinating place to work. What truly solidified my decision was seeing a family member join the lab and recognizing how much she loved and valued her work.
What advice would you give to a new employee at the Lab?
Ask questions, embrace feedback, build relationships, and stay organized to navigate your new role successfully.
What are your hobbies/what do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my boyfriend and our dog, Charlie. We love going for walks, watching movies, and I especially enjoy cooking.
